Course Objectives
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Identify the critical anatomy of the pterygoidregion.
- Understand when to attempt pterygoid implant placement and when not to.
- Obtain thetactile and neuromuscular sensation needed in this implant placement.
- Select appropriateimplant angulation, length, and positioning based on CBCT and clinical analysis. Integratepterygoid implants into full arch immediate load protocols and prosthetic workflows.
- Anticipate, identify, and manage complications specific to pterygoid implant surgery.
- Communicate pterygoid treatment options to patients, including risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
- Learn how to use pterygoid implants to rescue a failing case.
